I loved the Hotel Estherea’s elegance, and the fact that this 17th-century building is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
I chose the Hotel Estherea in Amsterdam for its walkable location and the fact that it advertised it had a library — and then ended up loving its Old World charms.
Every one of the 91 rooms is designed differently in this boutique hotel, and the building itself is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Our basic room was anything but, and the high-end coffee machine with fresh-ground beans in the lobby was so very nice in the mornings.
The hotel also had a fantastic restaurant that was for guests only (not sure how they made this business model work!) and, even better, the food and drink prices were reasonable. The candies in the lobby were a nice touch too, but I remember they all abruptly disappeared halfway through our stay in March 2020 due to Covid fears. I hope they've brought them back!
And of course ... location, location, location. This stunning building is on Amsterdam’s oldest canal, the Singel, and it was so easy to walk everywhere.
I highly recommend this hotel for every reason if you're visiting Amsterdam.
